I've been trying to get my friend to be able to watch my Hunter DVD's for a while. She's about 10 years older than me and consequently seems to be interested in 80's shows for nostalgic reasons. Also she seems to like other TV shows and books that I love with hardly any exceptions so I suggested she watch some Hunter!

I gave her my DVD's which were videos that I put onto DVD. She couldn't watch those because they were too jumpy (although I can watch them fine). Shame because I gave her Unfinished Business.

So then I thought I'd try her with the bought DVD's from Anchor Bay, but they didn't work because they are region 1 (here in the UK we are region 2).

So my next task was to find a region free hack on the internet specific to her DVD player, which I did quite easily. I text her the instructions, but this didn't work either!

So I went back and realised there was one button missing I hadn't given her before, so I text her the revised instructions.

I haven't heard if this has worked, but she will be over this afternoon as I see her every Friday. Let's hope it has worked. I gave her "The Big Fall" disk (thought it best to steer clear of the double sided disks to start with). I think "Double Exposure" will be a good one for her as she is a George Clooney fan so I might give her that next.

What a hassle it has been just to show a friend my favourite TV show. But if it works and she enjoys it I will be very happy. Fingers crossed.

Hope it'll be worth all the effort.

Good luck!

LOL!!! I just want to share a wonderful show with one of my best friends. Nothing wrong with that. I just wish it didn't feel like technology was against me. If Anchor Bay had released Hunter in Region 2 format as well as Region 1 we wouldn't have had a problem. They are the root of all our Hunter problems. Not releasing Seasons 4 onwards, need I say more?

SJC should never have sold out.
Not sure if he would have sold to the public or not, but I think there would have been an easier chance for FD to have bought the rights from him.

You're right there. I wonder if he sold the rights to the Movies and Season 8 as well as the rest of the series?

You know I'd love to see bloopers from the series and there must be quite a few judging by an article I have just describing a few scenes from "The Cradle Will Rock". When I get a chance I will type it up and post it.

Oh dear she just text me last night to say she still can't get them to work. I wish they had been released in region 2 format!
