As has been discussed before, Mill Creek Entertainment has acquired the rights for many (if not all) Stephen J. Cannell shows--and has plans to re-release them to DVD as Anchor Bay Entertainment stopped them all, abandoning them "claiming" poor sales as the reason.

Just in the past couple days new announcements on TVShowsOnDVD.com has given release dates for some of them--as well as a Mill Creek video advertisment on all the shows they plan to release complete with box-arts for the DVD sets!!--Although some don't have release dates yet.

The first season of "Hunter" is to be released on 1/19/10--NEXT WEEK!!. :D Also being released on 1/19 is the first seasons of "Renegade" and "21 Jumpstreet! The first season of "Silk Stalkings" is to be released on 3/9/10 :D --and so is the first season of "The Commish!" Also advertised was a special DVD release for 3/9/10 that isn't a repeat from Anchor Bay--the Cannell short-lived "cult" classic "Ten Speed and Brown Shoe" (1980), with Ben Vereen and Jeff Goldbum. Other shows advertised but already have had some DVD releases were "Wiseguy" (DVD release back on 8/29/09) and "Cobra" (Complete Series DVD release on 9/29/09). A couple other shows advertised but did not include actual release dates yet were: "The Greatest American Hero" and "Booker."

I love "Hunter" and "Silk Stalkings"--so I'm elated!! "Renegade" was pretty cool. Loved "The Greatest American Hero" as a child, but it's a bit "goofy" for me as an adult now. "21 Jumpstreet" was okay. I didn't really care for "The Commish." Don't know much about "Wiseguy" "Booker," or "Cobra??" Nor do I remember "Ten Speed and Brownshoe," but these shows were obviously popular for many people! Let's hope Mill Creek, unlike "Rusty Anchor-in-the-Stinky Bay" :P , delivers us the shows we love and want! :)

It's funny you say that - I saw Greatest American Hero for sale on Ebay and decided to buy it for old times sake. I really loved it when it originally came out. I watched a few episodes and, I agree, it wasn't as good as I remembered! "Goofy" is a good word for it. ;)
