I'll admit it...I love movie scores more than the actual soundtrack sometimes. It's that band geek in me, LOL! For example, I absolutely love the score for Dear John! I've listened to it so much that I was afraid I would ruin it. LOL! So, of course, I'm trilled about this JAG one. However, I think it's overly priced for music from only TWO episodes. Maybe I'll get it someday.

Did you decide to go ahead and buy, or are you still waiting for a lower price?

No, I didn't get it yet. I'll wait a little bit longer - maybe it will pop up on eBay or Amazon.

Good luck!

This is a pretty random story, but I still thought I'd share it anyway.

Last night, the local HS jazz band brought in a special guest artist for their concert. The guest was Bernie Dresel.

Dresel is a percussionist/drummer in the Brian Setzer Orchestra. He is truly phenomenal. Even if you don't know him by name, you are probably familiar with his work. He played drums for several theme songs such as Family Guy, The Simpsons, & Pinky and the Brain, he also did work in several Pixar movies. He played for Maynard Ferguson, The Rippingtons and Chaka Khan.

The scores he have done include: Dallas, Knots Landing, and JAG.

And my husband and I got to meet him. He was truly an amazing drummer and a wonderful, wonderful person.

It was kinda cool to meet someone who worked on/did work for JAG - considering I probably won't be meeting DJE or CB anytime soon! LOL

That's pretty cool. Congratulations. :)

I wouldn't have known him by name, but I like several songs by TBS Orchestra, as well as many by The Rippingtons and Chaka Khan. It's nice to know that he's been involved with such greats, and that you got to meet someone associated with JAG in some way.
:)

Why, thank you. It was more fun than I had anticipated it would be.

He actually grew up about 30 miles away from me, and his parents still live there. By nature, I was familiar with his name, but I haven't realized just how many wonderful people he has worked with until recently. I'm glad that he has done so well in his career.

---------
You're welcome.
That's great. :)

Today, I went to the funeral of one of my grand-uncles and though I've always known he was a musician (harmonica/singer), I didn't know until today that The Fabulous Thunderbirds covered his song, "She's Tough". I thought that was pretty cool. :)

I like two or three songs by The Fab T-birds, but didn't recall that one. I looked it up on Youtube as well as the version by my uncle. I've never really followed the blues, so I guess that's how I missed out on knowing.
